Nathan Maertens is the VP Finance for Foodbuy, providing leadership for all the commercial finance, analytics, FP&A and acquisition activities of Foodbuy Canada.  Before joining Foodbuy Canada 6 years ago, Nathan held a number of progressively responsible finance roles with Compass Group in our UK based global head office, through various functions including Corporate Strategy, Sales, Finance and Procurement over a period of 10 years.  Nathan is a results oriented strategic leader, passionate about building and empowering an inspired team, whilst leading with integrity and humility, so that he can deliver excellent financial results.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Nathan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002.  As a newly qualified accountant, Nathan immigrated to the UK, where he worked in a number of sectors including Telecommunications, Banking and Distribution, before joining Compass Group in 2008.

Nathan is an avid sportsman and particularly enjoys Rugby and Cricket, and has recently taken up Hockey.  In his spare time, Nathan enjoys exploring the Canadian outdoors with his family during all four seasons.
